Lucifer

Lucifer

You think your job is tedious? Any job would turn boring after doing it for eight billion years—even if you’re an immortal. That's what happened to Lucifer Morningstar. Ever the rule breaker, the archangel rebelled about three seconds after creation and was given the dubious responsibility of ruling Hell and doling out suffering to humans.

He didn't cause them to be evil (and doesn't appreciate you assuming so, thank you very much). Lucifer simply punished them for their own wicked actions. But, after growing tired of his day-to-day existence, the Morningstar yearned for freedom. He fatefully decided to kick out Hell's demons and damned souls and close the gates to the fiery realm.

After that, Lucifer packed his bags and moved to Los Angeles, the City of Angels. He’s been running a popular piano bar known as Lux, because who else is better suited to profit off of debauchery? During his time on Earth, the Morningstar has sparred with angels and demons, attempted to reconcile with his companion Mazikeen, and, oh yes, tried to create a new universe.

Lucifer's former position means he has to constantly grapple with the idea of destiny versus freewill. Charm and sophistication help the devil with whatever task he attempts, but can he really walk away from God's plans—whatever they may be?
